What isn't decided yet
As of 25 October 2026:
- The list. The Department says it will publish the high-risk supports. Until it does, nobody can say for certain which of your supports are in scope.
- The audit type. Under today's NDIS Rules, assistance with daily personal activities (0107) is a certification group, which means an on-site audit. The preferred option in the government's impact analysis is "Mandatory Registration of NDIS providers delivering the highest-risk supports in an advanced registration category". Under it, "From July 2027, advanced and general categories of registration are introduced for highest risk supports". No rule yet sets which audit each category would need.
- The order and timing of each stage between July 2027 and December 2030.
Read the impact analysis and its supplementary analysis for the proposed model. It is a proposal, not a rule.
What you can do now
- Work out which of your supports might be in scope. Personal care and daily living supports are the examples the Department gives.
- Keep your basics current. Worker screening, the NDIS worker orientation certificate and insurance certificates appear in today's verification document list, so they're a sensible start whatever the final rules say.
- Watch for the published list. The Department's Securing the NDIS page is where updates appear.
- Be wary of certainty. Anyone promising a registration outcome, or claiming to know the final list today, is ahead of the official sources.
